Loud Mouth Union Boss: Gets F-minus in Business 101.

Richard Trumka, AFL-CIO President sounded off on the death of Twinkies. (Perhaps he has a personal stake in the outcome…)

“What’s happening with Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with America, as Bain-style Wall Street vultures make themselves rich by making America poor,” Trumka said in a public statement. “Crony capitalism and consistently poor management drove Hostess into the ground, but its workers are paying the price.”

One little problem Mr. T, you act as though Hostess brands as an endless supply of money to keep operations going.

They do not.

I understand that you–being the President of a Union–believe that money supplies are endless. I mean after all your rather hefty salary comes from forced extortion of your membership–no matter how little good comes from your organization's activities.

But REAL business in the REAL world does NOT work like the make believe luxurious bubble you lecture the free world from.

If Hostess does not have the money to operate–including paying the people that work for them–where are they supposed get it from?

You and other union leaders have such a spacey view when it comes to how business operates you actually blame a business that has no capacity to continue to operate when it does the responsible thing and closes its doors.

Doors that might have been able to stay open if the Hostess employees had been willing to give in just a tiny bit.
