Actor Stephen Baldwin, Talk Host Kevin McCullough, & “Secret Millionaire” Dani Johnson extend efforts to feed orphans and launch DoGood.com!
Hoping in April 2012 to feed more than 2012 orphans before end of the calendar year, and with more than 3600 children–who have no resources–fed for the coming year. The Coalition formerly known as “2012 in 2012″ has become www.DoGood.com.
The coalition originally launched by the actor Stephen Baldwin, nationally syndicated talk show host and best- selling author Kevin McCullough, and ABC Television’s “Secret Millionaire” Dani Johnson, along with the 501c3 organizations Xtreme Charities, King’s Ransom Foundation, and Food For Orphans desired to reach a lofty goal by December 31st, 2012.
They wished to rally thousands of people to support the need for children who were hungry and without any sort of resources or safety nets, to be able to be fed for the coming year.
Launching April 1st 2012, the coalition–along with additional promotional awareness from Wall Street Journal’s “Marketwatch,” Focus On The Family’s “Citizenlink”, and more than 600 radio stations across America–has been able to feed more than 3600 children, with many months left in 2012.
Having outgrown the self-labeled “moniker” of “2012 in 2012″ the focus of the coalition has changed it’s identifier simply as www.DoGood.com.
“The reaction has been, in far too simplistic an expression, ‘mind-blowing,’” said Kevin McCullough, CEO and Principal of XtreMEDIA and Xtreme Charities. “Everyone involved in the coalition has a passion for feeding hungry children! We talk about it in our free time to everyone we meet! But to see how thousands of people stepped up, gave a gift of $92 and fed a child for the entire year, simply blew us away!”
“We recognized very quickly that ’2012 in 2012′ had limited our vision,” said Stephen Baldwin. “And as born- again Christians we recognized that God wants to do even more so becoming ‘DoGood.com’ gave us the most room to state our mission but continue to push forward helping those who Jesus loves most–widows and orphans.”
“I am constantly blown away by how people got involved,” stated Dani Johnson. “We had American kids running lemonade stands, asking their entire classrooms at school to donate their milk money, and many hundreds of people giving sacrificially ten percent of what they made–no matter how bad this economy is–to see to it that children would eat this coming year!”
DoGood.com is still strongly encouraging people to feed hungry children.
“Every night 60,000,000 orphans go to bed hungry,” said Gary Van Dyke of Food For Orphans, “and the need grows each day because every hour 40 more orphans die from starvation and preventable malnutrition. That’s one child dying every 90 seconds.”
