ON THE KEVIN McCULLOUGH SHOW:
1. THE HEADLINE ITEM: Wikileaks founder Jullian Assange claims Hillary Clinton should resign if it can be proven that she ordered spying within the United Nations. This non-story part of the story is laughable. Assange acts as though no other nation does such a thing. When we know full well that it happens against us, all the time. Shouldn’t the real scandal of the document drop was that 3,000,000 had access to these sensitive files before they got dumped? Disagree with me here: 877.572.8446.
2. THE PRACTICAL DILEMMA: Why are more and more 20 & 30 year olds leaving the church? According to a new piece in Christianity Today: “Most leavers had been exposed to a superficial form of Christianity that effectively inoculated them against authentic faith… Most teens (are) practicing a religion best called “Moralistic Therapeutic Deism,” which casts God as a distant Creator who blesses people who are “good, nice, and fair.” Its central goal is to help believers “be happy and feel good about oneself… Unfortunately, it’s one taught, implicitly and sometimes explicitly, at every age level in many churches. It’s in the air that many churchgoers breathe, from seeker-friendly worship services to low-commitment small groups. When this nave and coldly utilitarian view of God crashes on the hard rocks of reality, we shouldn’t be surprised to see people of any age walk away… The answer, of course, lies in more than offering another program. Nor should we overestimate the efficacy of slicker services or edgy outreach. Only with prayer and thoughtful engagement will at least some of the current exodus be stemmed. One place to begin is by rethinking how we minister to those from youth to old age. There’s nothing wrong with pizza and video games, nor with seeker-sensitive services, nor with low-commitment small groups that introduce people to the Christian faith. But these cannot replace serious programs of discipleship and catechism.”" 877.572.8446.
3. THE DAILY GOD THOUGHT: “There is only one relationship that really matters, and that is your personal relationship to your personal Redeemer and Lord. If you maintain that at all costs, letting everything else go, God will fulfill His purpose through your life..“
